This brought me to tears and I don’t know why!
Cougar Town season 3, episodes 14 and 15: My Life and Your World
Both episodes were ridiculously hilarious. I was laughing so much harder than usual. Maybe that was because it was my first CT viewing with wine but I re-watched and it was not! Everything was just perfect. The character developments, the ending, the quirky, the jokes, and the guest stars! Oh Bill and David…. Oh and Stan and Penny Can <3.
The only thing I did not like was the Ellie thing…..Poor Andy. That was just awkward to watch and uncomfortable.
Community season 3 episode: Origins of Vampire Mythology
Oh gosh this episode was perfect. Community has been killing it lately! Seriously, the Chang and Pierce bff thing was fantastic, Jeff’s continued character development was also good, and the Dean was THE BEST. When the Dead showed up at the apartment I just about lost it. He is my favorite character. The one thing I did not like was Annie’s character. She was good for most the episode except for when she was written to be pining after Jeff again. I just do not like them together. I love her with Abed to be honest. Speaking of relationships though, Britta’s smile at the end to Troy…. I dug it.
Cougar Town season 3, episode 5: A One Story Town
This episode was quite possibly the MOST funny thing ever. As always clever, plus VERY quirky, and just fun. That date though was so disastrous I don’t know if I believe Sarah Chalke’s character would have actually given it another chance. But she did and the ending was good. Bobby really is terrible at first dates. It was ridiculous how bad he was but still it felt natural how it was executed. And all the Canada jokes were perfect. Just absolutely perfect. Also, I was initially worried about how the Scrubs reunion would go because I feared it would be a big deal and remove Cougar Town from its own personal style but I was wrong. The reunion was perfect. THE TODD!! I loved him.
Modern Family season 3, episode 15: Aunt Mommy
Tears…SO MANY TEARS! This was a surprisingly hilarious episode! And for the love of god that drunk scene! PERFECTION. Reminded me of something I have learned while being France…wine leads to bad decisions. Let’s just say I related haha. Anyway, That scene was just so well acted and even Phil and Claire the next morning was just PRICELESS. So many good things from the episode. Lily screaming at the end? I DIED. Manny being in the wheelchair trying to get away and then how Phil sold the house? More moments where I died.
One thing though… Maybe I am weird but I did not see anything too bizarre about Claire donating the egg. I mean people are raised by their aunt and uncles all the time. And the baby would then have both sets of familial DNA. Whatever.
Modern Family season 3, episode 14: Me? Jealous?
I really liked this episode! Very, very funny. And some great character moments. That whole Gloria and Cam scene in the kitchen was just fantastic. Their acting was amazing. I also love the gust star usually but I must admit I did not quite understand the weird-ass kissing thing. Some of those scenes were pretty awkward. Though, Phil is amazing so he definitely saved them. I am still very confused by his character and that scene in his house nonetheless.
P.S. the little inside joke they created about Manny’s friend Danielle or whatever it was had me on the floor. “It might help with that train-wreck Danielle.” I died.
Red Band Trailer: God Bless America - April 6
Written and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait. Starring Joel Murray, Tara Lynne Barr, and Mackenzie Brooke Smith.
Fair warning, this preview (and presumably the movie) presents a string of extremely inconsequential acts of uber-violence. But for those with the stomach to handle Goldthwait’s demented view of the world, treasures of insight await. The spot’s glorification of said violence can be off putting but the director’s short yet proven track record is enough for me to go with it. These kind of movies can only end one way (the protagonists fall prey to their own trigger-happiness), so it will be interesting to see how he twists it.
I know this doesn’t make me look that good but this movie looks fucking fantastic. And a lot of the reason is the premise.
Community season 3 episode 9: Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism
THAT. EPISODE. WAS. AMAZING. So funny! The laughter had me physically convulsing. AND THEN BATMAN ABED CAME BACK AND ALL WAS WONDERFUL. I have wanted Batman Abed back since he first appeared in season 1. DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!! This show is what all sitcoms should be. Because an episode that was hilarious to high levels of hilarity still had great character development for Shirley and Jeff and heart. Shirley had a new side that I thoroughly enjoyed and even Jeff showed some interesting progress, he let something go. He did not pursue the competition. I dig it. Also, the moment at the end was so sweet!!!!
Modern Family season 3, episode 9: Punkin Chunkin
LOVE IT! This show is so funny all the time. And Phil is PERFECT. Thought I admit I hate when married couples fight because its awkward but I was siding with Phil because LET HIM DREAM WOMAN! The sweet moments at the end though…. I was touched. lol
Also WHAT was the guy from Book of Mormon, who I met btw, doing on ModFam???
Cougar Town is hilarious!
PREACH!
